Everything you want to know before reaching out — what we do, where we work, how projects run, and what to expect.
We're based in Mahwah and serve homeowners and businesses throughout Bergen County, NJ. That includes Mahwah, Franklin Lakes, Wyckoff, Saddle River, Upper Saddle River, Ridgewood, Ramsey, Emerson, Allendale, Ho-Ho-Kus, Glen Rock, Oradell, Alpine, Ridgefield Park, and the surrounding communities. If you're in Bergen County, we can almost certainly come to you — just reach out and we'll confirm.
We cover the full range of outdoor work: hardscaping and landscape construction (custom patios, retaining walls, walkways, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, fire pits, water features, driveways, and more), landscape design, plantings and garden installation, residential lawn maintenance programs, and commercial snow removal. Whether you need a single project or a full-property transformation, we handle it.
Over 35 years. We're a family-owned and operated company that started in Mahwah and has been working in Bergen County ever since. Longevity in this business comes from doing the work right and taking care of people — we've built our reputation one project at a time.
Yes. We offer free on-site consultations and estimates. We'll come to your property, take a look at what you're working with, listen to what you have in mind, and put together a detailed written proposal at no charge. There's no pressure and no obligation.
It starts with an on-site consultation where we walk the property with you and talk through your goals, timeline, and budget. From there we put together a proposal with scope, materials, and pricing. Once you approve it, we handle material sourcing, scheduling, and any required permits. Construction typically follows within the agreed timeline — we keep you informed throughout. When the work is done, we do a final walkthrough together to make sure everything is right before we consider the job complete.
Yes — we're very familiar with Bergen County's permit requirements for retaining walls, grading, and larger hardscape installations. We'll advise you upfront on whether a permit is required for your specific project, and we handle the process so you don't have to navigate it on your own. Getting this right from the start is part of doing the job properly.
Both. We offer seasonal residential lawn maintenance programs — mowing, fertilization, aeration, overseeding, spring cleanups, and fall leaf removal — as well as one-time landscape construction and installation projects. Many of our clients start with a construction project and then sign up for an ongoing maintenance program to keep everything looking its best.
Our snow removal program is focused on commercial properties, business parking lots, and HOAs throughout Bergen County. If you manage a commercial property and need reliable plowing and salting before business hours, that's exactly what we do. For residential snow removal, contact us directly — depending on location and availability we may be able to accommodate you.
Honestly, any time is a good time to start planning — we're busy year-round, and our project calendar fills up faster than most people expect. Spring and fall are the most popular seasons for both construction and planting, and they're also ideal for getting on our schedule before the rush. Hardscaping can be done in most weather conditions, so winter planning with a spring build date is a very common and practical approach. The earlier you reach out, the better your chance of getting your preferred timing.
We work with a wide range of quality materials depending on the project and the look the client wants. On the paving side, we install Techo-Bloc systems (including the Blu 60, Raffinato, and others), natural bluestone, porcelain tile, large-format pavers, granite, Belgian block, and flagstone. For walls and features, we use fieldstone, natural boulders, and manufactured wall systems. For plantings, we select species appropriate for New Jersey's climate — arborvitae, boxwood, ornamental grasses, native perennials, specimen trees, and more. We'll recommend what makes sense for your specific site, style, and long-term maintenance goals.
Each material has a different look, feel, and maintenance profile. Natural bluestone is quarried stone with a classic, timeless character — slight color variation, a textured surface, and a look that ages beautifully. It's ideal if you want something that feels natural and blends with traditional home styles. Porcelain tile gives you a cleaner, more contemporary look with very consistent color and texture, and it's extremely low maintenance — it won't stain, fade, or absorb moisture. It works well on modern homes or wherever you want a refined, polished aesthetic. Techo-Bloc pavers (like the Blu 60 or Raffinato) are engineered concrete pavers with tight dimensional tolerances — great for projects where you want flexibility in pattern and color, easy repair down the road (individual pieces can be replaced), and strong durability. We'll walk you through the tradeoffs for your specific project and help you pick the right fit.
It depends on the size and complexity of the project. A straightforward patio installation — say, 400–600 square feet with a standard base and no walls or steps — typically takes three to five days of active construction once we're on-site. Add retaining walls, steps, built-in seating, or drainage work and you're looking at one to two weeks. The longer lead time is usually in the planning and scheduling phase: material sourcing, permit review if needed, and getting on our calendar. Once construction starts, we work through it efficiently and don't leave jobs half-done.
Yes — custom stone outdoor kitchens are one of our specialties. A typical outdoor kitchen build starts with a structural base (usually concrete block or steel framing) faced in natural stone, stacked stone veneer, or matching pavers. From there, we integrate the countertop (granite, bluestone, or porcelain are popular choices), the appliances — built-in grills, side burners, refrigerators, sinks, and storage drawers — and any additional features like a bar overhang with seating, overhead pergola framing, or a fireplace column adjacent to the kitchen zone. The whole thing is wired and plumbed to match. We've done everything from compact two-burner kitchen setups to full L-shaped outdoor kitchens with multiple cooking stations. We'll design it around how you actually cook and entertain.
A naturalistic waterfall starts with real boulder and fieldstone construction — we grade the ground, build up the stone structure by hand, set the cascade points so the water moves the way it looks like it should, and integrate a recirculating pump system underneath. The whole thing is built to look like it belongs there, not like it was dropped in from a catalog. Maintenance is straightforward: the pump should be checked seasonally, the pond or basin cleaned out once a year, and the system winterized before the first freeze. Most of our clients find that once it's running, it practically takes care of itself. We'll walk you through everything when the project is done.
Belgian block (sometimes called cobblestone) is a dense, cube-shaped granite block that's been used for driveways, road edging, and hardscape borders for centuries — it's incredibly durable and looks better with age. We use it most often as a border or edging material: framing a paver driveway with a Belgian block border is one of the most classic and long-lasting combinations in the Northeast. It's also used to define curbs at the street, edge planting beds along driveways, and create aprons at garage entries. You can do full Belgian block driveways, but it's more common — and often more cost-effective — to use it as an accent border alongside pavers or gravel. It works on everything from traditional colonials to newer construction.
Done right, stone hardscaping is about as permanent as outdoor construction gets. Natural bluestone and granite can last 50 years or more with minimal intervention. Fieldstone retaining walls, built with proper drainage behind them, hold up through decades of freeze-thaw cycles without issue. Paver patios — Techo-Bloc or otherwise — are designed to be re-leveled if any settling occurs, and individual pieces can be replaced without disturbing the rest of the surface. The main maintenance tasks are joint sand replenishment every few years (polymeric sand locks in but can erode slightly over time), occasional sealing if you want to protect against staining, and keeping drainage clear so water doesn't pond. We build with longevity in mind — proper base depth, good drainage, and quality materials — so you're not dealing with problems in year three.
Yes, demolition and removal is a standard part of what we do. We'll saw-cut and break out the old concrete, haul it away, re-grade the base if needed, and build the new surface from scratch with a proper compacted gravel base. Replacing concrete with pavers or natural stone typically gives you a better-looking result, better drainage (pavers handle water differently than a solid slab), and easier repairs down the road if anything shifts. We handle the full scope — demo through finished surface — so you're not coordinating multiple contractors.
We work with a wide range of clients — not just homeowners. Our client list includes residential homeowners, real estate developers, custom home builders, general contractors, property investors, property management companies, HOAs and condominium associations, commercial property owners, and house flippers looking to maximize curb appeal before a sale. Whether it's a single-family backyard, a multi-unit development, or a commercial entrance, we bring the same level of craftsmanship to every project. If you're looking to improve a property — for personal enjoyment, resale value, or tenant appeal — we're the team for the job.
